A Little About Myself
Adrienne Thompson- Equine Massage Services and Reiki Practitioner
Hello, My name is Adrienne Thompson and I am the owner of Unwound Equine, your equine massage and Reiki practitioner. Your time here is greatly appreciated. Please allow me a few minutes to tell you a little about myself and what Unwound Equine offers.
Growing up in Washington State I always had a fascination with horses. I never had my own but dreamed of standing in a pasture, communicating and petting them.
Education, Training And Volunteer Work
In 2019, after studying the energetics and intuitive nature of horses, I began volunteering at several area stables, providing equine energy healing, Fast forward to 2023 and I still volunteer as much as I can. Currently, I’m working with an amazing non-profit organization called Healing Horses Kauai, on the beautiful island of Kauai, where I work with therapy horses for children with disabilities.
After seeing the results of my equine energy work, my stable manager suggested I study Equine Massage to compliment my practice in energetics. I soon enrolled in The Equine Natural Movement School and studied under Joseph and Jaqueline Freeman.
Throughout my training I learned how to do body work on horses, including subtle release techniques. I also gained a vast understanding of the equine fascial system in regards to holdings within the equine muscular and skeletal systems. By combining subtle muscle release techniques and Reiki, I’ve created a very natural and fluid combination that horses respond to.
I currently reside in Southern California and live on a horse ranch where I work part time as a rancher further honing my horsemanship skills. I also currently work with several clients outside of the ranch in various degrees of horse modalities (i.e. therapeutic needs, western, dressage, working horses, etc.)
Horse And Canine Energy Work
Horse and canine energy work is fairly similar and since I love dogs too, I recently began accepting some canine clients into my Reiki Practice. Energy work brings the same visible relief to dogs as it does horses. Helping owner’s find holistic solutions to integrate into the care of their animals, is what my work is all about.
It is a great honor to work with such amazing animals. I am grateful for every opportunity I have to utilize my skills and training. My hope is to continue to learn and grow in my practice.
My dreams as a young girl of standing in a pasture, communicating with and petting horses have manifested into a beautiful reality. I look forward to what the future holds.
